Pardon me if this is an improper group for this post, but since Btrieve is a Novell product, I did think it would be too far out of line. On with the post. I have the following problem to solve: Given a .dat file produced by Btrieve, I need to extract data out of the file, and write the data out in either ASCII or a .dbf format. I would be able solve this problem if I had a more concrete idea of the file format used by Btrieve. I have no documentation on Btrieve, and have no experience with the package. (Don't ask, but suffice to say I wouldn't be attempting this if I wasn't being paid. :) What I want to know is the following: Can anyone tell me more about the file format(s) used by Btrieve, or if I'm reinventing the wheel. Anything you can tell me could be potential useful ( barring flames of course.) Thanks for reading this... -- ___________________________________________________________________________ Erik O'Shaughnessy Mac/Unix Support Guy |Phrase of the day: Small Systems | "Poetically Inert" New Mexico State University | eoshaugh@nmsu.edu |"Help!
