'ello All, I am working with two Novell 3.11 networks here at the University. Each network has several Apple Laserwriter IINT's. The Macs and IBMs on the networks are Ethernetted, and all printjobs to the Laserwriters are directed to queues (even Mac jobs go to the queues). We are getting postscript errors from IBM WordPerfect and Macintosh PageMaker. The errors come and go, and I have yet to find a way to reproduce them. WordPerfect produces an "OffendingCommand:m_" or "OffendingCommand: ;", and several other offending commands that don't make much sense. The timeout has been set to 20 seconds. The DOS workstations have 2 mg of memory. For PageMaker, the error is always "OffendingCommand:AldusDict2". This error is resolved if the PageMaker document is sent directly to the printer instead of the queues. Unfortunately, when this is done the document cannot be tracked via Pconsole. I'm sure there are many others who run WordPerfect and Mac PageMaker over their Novell networks. What kind of print def settings did you find to be best? Is the timeout we use too short? Do the DOS machines lack the memory to do the job correctly? I would also like to hear from those who run Mac PageMaker directly off the server. thanks! tracy -- /\_/\ Tracy Gust - Microlab Mgr.
