Using Novell 286 2.15. Our file server has a pretty samll amount of RAM. According to our tech people, novell always attempts to cache the entire directory of the most recently used file. Our most frequently used non-WP application keeps its data in a directory the contents of which are far larger than the amount of available RAM. Does this imply that every time this app runs that everything else gets tossed out of the cache? Is the caching scheme described in any of the red books, and do people find that it is relevant to thing about when deciding how to set up applications? This particular application could concievably be run standalone. (The data is much larger than any amount of RAM we're every likely to buy.)
