We are running 386 3.10 Rev.A and 3.11 on an different network these are student labs and we would like to be able to have an accounting for the laser printers, so we can charge the students for each page they print. Of course we can connect some network-independend charge-system (e.g. the CopyCard system) directly to the laser (Brother HL-8v). But this is a REAL hassle: when somebody wants to print, he has to go to the laser, put in his charge card, go back to the workstation and starts the job. If a job has still been hanging in the queue or somebody else is meanwhile starting a job, the poor guy that put in his card will be charged for all the other ignorants' crab. NetWare has nice accounting features for connect time, disk access and others. What I'm missing is the possibility to give the users credit and define charge rates let's say for different printservers, queues or jobs in a way that each printed page can be charged for the same rate ? Or did I miss something by reading the manual ??? Any help deeply appreciated ... thanx a lot to the experts ........... bye ....................................................................
