Among the stories that will be in tomorrow's Gazette: -- Lois Claxton, currently a senior librarian based in the Davis Centre library, will become Secretary of the University on January 1. This senior position includes responsibility for security (UW police) and internal audit, as well as for the staff who monitor paperwork and guide the activities of UW's governing bodies and committees. -- Tess Sliwinski is the president of the Federation of Students, succeeding the resigned John Vellinga. Kim Speers, previously expected to take over as president, remains a vice-president. -- Revised policies on how department chairs, deans, the provost and the president are chosen (and removed from office) are near final approval. -- The theatre centre's second annual Christmas Pageant takes place this Friday evening, November 7.
