First of all: yes, there will be a Gazette today. Among its
contents:
-- Details of the new salary classification system which
will include all non-union staff at UW
-- A summary of the new "Guidelines for Research with
Human Subjects"
Second: welcome to 1991, and/or welcome back to campus.
Third: a reminder of why this newsgroup was created a few
weeks ago. It is a moderated group (moderated by the editor
of the Gazette) designed to carry excerpts from the Gazette,
urgent announcements, and occasional serious discussion of
campus affairs. Although the entire Gazette is not posted
here, this newsgroup is intended to develop into an electronic
equivalent of the Gazette for people who don't like paper.
