Here is some additional information attached to the JvNCnet regional meeting.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 24, 1991
1.  JvNCnet Open House - von Neumann Hall

Generic directions
Rt. 1 onto Rt. 571 (Washington Road, sign says to Princeton) 
and go straight until the second traffic light.   Make right turn onto 
Prospect Avenue.  Continue straight and go past the black iron gate 
on your left.   Look for the house on the left with the address of 116 
Prospect Avenue (Advanced Technology and Applications, CIT).   von 
Neumann Hall is directly behind 116 Prospect.  Use the metered 
parking  (12 hours) on Prospect Avenue and walk on the path from 
116 Prospect.  Use the front entrance to enter the von Neumann 
Building and go down the steps.  Continue down the short hallway to 
B 6, the office.  B1 is the NOC.  

2.  Informal dinner, 6:00 p.m., at the Annex, 128 Nassau St. (corner of 
Tulane), Princeton.  Any attendee who arrives on Thursday is 
welcome to join the group.

JANUARY 25, 1991, 1:30 to 3:00 PARALLEL WORKSESSIONS

It is anticipated that participants to these sessions will freely 
comment on issues concerning their sites and what JvNCnet can 
do to help or improve certain areas.  The worksessions are seen 
as collaborative effort.  JvNCnet group leaders will focus on the 
following points.  Members should attend the session that 
matches their designated function.  Should this not be possible, 
please attend the session of your interest.   It is also fine to 
attend more than one session.  Each group should designate one 
individual note taker as this will help the group leader to 
summarize the results in the main auditorium after the break.

Operations and Installations Maintenance (Joint session)
CS Bowl 104
	Introduction of operations staff and CIT staff.
	JvNCnet and CIT operations availability (on and off hours)
	The role of operations, goals and daily practices
	Procedures for handling routing problems, errors, and user 
requests.
	Maintenance scheduling, training, scheduled downtime
	Site monitoring procedures
	Suggestions for JvNCnet NOC
	Preparation steps required for new and prospective 
members  to expedite campus  Internet connection. 
	Information  about internetworking

Engineering-Classroom 103
	The regional network as a robust service provider
	Routing and topology  concerns

Information Services - Classroom 102
	Compilation of site profiles from and for our members.  Each 
will contain data about the campus size, resources,  resource 
availability to JvNCnet and Internet.  Standardization of 
profile format.  
	What does the site need from  JvNCnet NIS?  What are the 
site expectations?
	What is the interaction between the site and NIS?  How does 
the site deal with userUs needs?
