[ut.nets.reports] Requests for deletion from JvNCnet mailing lists

becker@r2d2.jvnc.net (Brendan Becker) (05/17/91)

Hi all,

Recently this mailing list has been inundated (sp?) with requests from
folks who would like to be removed from JvNCnet mailing list.
Please allow me to explain the situation we have here.

First, all JvNCnet mailing lists dealing with operational, technical,
administrative and general issues are primarily lists filled with
other mail reflectors. All of the requests I have received asking
to be removed are from folks who are not specifically mentioned by
e-mail address on the "jvncnet" mailing list. Therefore, if you are
receiving mail from that list, it must be that you are receiving it
from some other mail reflector (possibly via Merit as all the requests
are from outside the JvNCnet membership). Please check with the
other mailing lists to which you subscribe to see if this is how you
are getting JvNCnet info.

Secondly, when requesting a change in the status of any mailing list
eminating (sp?) from JvNCnet, please use the suffix "-request" before
the host name.

i.e. to unsubscribe to the "jvncnet@nisc.jvnc.net" list. please
	send mail to "jvncnet-request@nisc.jvnc.net".

This way the list does not get swamped with requests for deletions
and additions.

I hope that this will be of assistance to all requesting deletions and
additions to the list and also to all the folks who are part of the list
who are wading through the messages.

Thank you all for your understanding and cooperation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to respond to me directly.
Please do not respond back to the list unless absolutely necessary.

Regards,
Brendan
JvNCnet mailing list administrator
