Charter:
Articles in this newsgroup will contain information of interest
to the scientific visualization community.  Specific information concerning
graphics techniques such as ray tracing, geometric modeling, color
science, and animation will be discouraged in favor of comp.graphics.
Information specific to translation of various graphics formats, image
or geometric, is also discouraged in favor of comp.graphics.  Job posting
is strongly discouraged.

Encouraged topics are: reviews of software for vis., works in progress,
availability of data for vis., hardware available for sharing at vis. sites,
definition of vis. terminology, vis. conference announcements, reviews of
hardware designed for vis. market (film printers, color printers,, input
devices, video equipment, as well as computers), emerging standards, vis.
methodology in reference to the type of data being visualizaed, available
software, support for widely used vis. tools, archiving and philosophy of
visualization.

Strongly encouraged are accounts of (un)successful visualization projects
describing hardware used, length and type of output, type of data
visualizaed, reasons for success or failure, time, manpower and computer
resources required to complete project, etc.

Cross posting is encouraged if info is in the spirit of the group.
Posting of questions is strongly encouraged.
Please limit reposting previous messages.

Ideally contributors should be aware that professionals will rely on the
accuracy of the postings for their work.
