[comp.graphics.visualization] hard- software combinations ok?

kws08@opal.cs.tu-berlin.de (Werkzeuge f. d. SE kws08) (11/28/90)

Who has experience (good and/or bad) with the following hard- and
software combinations:

1) PIXAR II with a host (ChapVolume & ChapIP)
2) Personal IRIS with Voxelview (is there any DIP Software?)
3) Stardent 1000 with AVS
4) E&S ESV 2 with AVS 5) Sun 4 with Sunvision

* Purpose: Videoframes (cross-sections of turbulent fluid flow)
are to be digitized and 3-D structures reconstructed/visualised.

* Do you think/feel that any of the above hard- software is a
good investment, or is ther anything better?

* How come PIXAR cannot use Apollo DN 10000 as a host?

* Any information is greatly appreciated!
