Has anybody ever done cone-tracing ellipsoids of arbitrary orientations? Reflections and refractions are ignored here. My current implementation involves transforming an ellipsoid into a sphere, and subsequently transforming the viewing coordinates. Since there might be many ellipsoids in the scenes, I am curious if other alternatives are more efficient. Any comment is greatly appreciated. Benjamin zhu@philabs.philips.com
