Many thanks for your request. It's not that I want to use CGMs for video; I have been for three years, principally for oceanography, atmospheric physics, ecological studies and computer art (William Latham, whose Evolution of Form opened last year's SIGGraph video show, does much of his work here). Being this side of the Atlantic, all output is in PAL, but as we have PAL/NTSC switchable VHS and U-Matic players, I assume these are common in the US as well (???). I could send a copy of some of the sequences to a site that wanted to see what has been done. (Note to main distribution list - I can't makes dozens of copies for free.) The setup here is Unix system (Primagraphics Topaz, 24-bit framestore and lots of off-screen memory for anything complicated) feeding digital video via parallel link (CCIR 601) to Abekas A60 disk. When that is full or sequence is complete, drop onto Hi-Band SP U-Matic via Lyon-Lamb animation controller. Chris Osland
