[comp.graphics.visualization] status of apE distribution

SONDVONS@HASARA11.BITNET (Peter Vons) (04/08/91)

Can anybody comment on the status of the distribution of apE?
We have ordered it in December last year. There must be large group
of waiting sites at the moment.

apE 2.1 is shipping. As far as I know it's only been shipping for a week
or two and they are seriously backlogged.

Hope that helps.

Can apE and pertinent documents be had through ftp? Is so, what is the
site name where it resides?

Thanks,
William

apE is neither public domain nor free. You must sign a license agreement,
pay $75. and wait for delivery.

However, a limited demo version and the manuals (in PS) are available
by anonymous ftp at apE.osgp.osc.edu (128.146.18.18).
