[comp.graphics.visualization] More on 3D and Scalar

dirish@glab1.math.utah.edu (Dudley Irish) (05/22/91)

In a previous message I described a need to display a 3D grid with
scalar values at each point. The reason I gave for wanting a system
for which I could get source code was that I wanted to be able to do
animation. From the responses I have recieved so far it is clear that
animation has more meanings than I thought.

By animation, I mean -- draw a frame, send controls to the animation
controller to record that frame, draw the next frame. In otherwords,
I am not aiming for an interactive animation, but a batch oriented
animation which we would then play back in real time.

I am interested in any batch oriented animation software, but am
particularly interested in something that can do this sort of volume
rendering.

Thanks,
