kenkel@mcnc.org (Stephen Kenkel) (12/12/90)
(I just posted this to comp.lsi.cad. Dave Sill suggested that I cross post this here.) Some (long) time ago I suggested that it would be useful to maintain a collection of "benchmark" or test circuits for circuit level simulation. A number of people seemed interested, but very few had circuits available. (With the notable exception of B.D. Schaffer from Sandia Natl Labs) Everyone agreed that the most valuable part of such a collection was a "known correct" output for each circuit. To get the ball rolling, MCNC has set up a directory of circuit simulator benchmarks. It is accessible via anonymous ftp at mcnc.mcnc.org cd to pub/bench, read the README file, and proceed. So far the collection looks like this: BENCHMARK DIRECTORIES --------- ----------- bjt/ 12 Small BJT circuits. mos2/ 18 Small MOSFET circuits LEVEL 2 Model. mos3/ 12 Small MOSFET circuits LEVEL 3 Model. mos2_large/ 14 Large MOSFET CIRCUITS. (CAzM & HSPICE) mos2_large_sp/ 14 Large MOSFET CIRCUITS. (SPICE3 and SPICE2G6) These directories are publicly readable. If you want all the circuits in a directory, each directory has also been made into a "tar" file and compressed for data transfer (e.g. bjt_tar.Z) (make sure to change ftp to binary mode). The directories contain input files suitable for SPICE3, SPICE2G6, CAzM and HSPICE, as well as the outputs from each simulator and some accounting information. If you have any comments, criticisms, or circuits to contribute, feel free to contact me. I am also open to alternate distribution mechanisms--perhaps netlib?
