For anybody who's interested, Power C by Mix Software cannot be used with the MS Windows 3.0 SDK for at least the following reasons: 1) The compiler has a hard-coded symbol table limit of 64K, which means that it can't even make it all the way through windows.h. 2) The documented /q option to generate Microsoft object modules instead of Mix object modules is not functional and not currently supported. (If it did work, one could use the linker supplied with the Supplementary Compiler Util- ities.) Power C also cannot generate the Windows prolog and epilog code, but it's not clear how critical a problem that is. Mix Tech Support claims that a version of Power C that can be used with the SDK is under development, but won't be available anytime soon. If anybody else would like to be able to use a $20 compiler with the SDK, give Mix a call and persuade them to accelerate their development. -- Scott D. Eberline scotte@locus.com or uunet!lcc!scotte
