So. I've figured out how to get my application running under windows
but I need a bit of help with displaying graphics. H/W: PS/2 w/ VGA and
8514. I'm trying to figure out how to display full screens of graphics
(like a picture that you splash on the screen at startup while the
system grinds away trying to get the program started). I made a bitmap
w/ Paintbrush and filled the screen as far as I could, thinking that this
would be a good "example screen".
My problems are several:
1) I haven't figured out how to make bitmap the first thing that
shows up. If I create/show/update a window and then BitBlt to it,
I get the original window for a while, then the bitmap staggers
out (It's only a 20 MHz machine). I would like the image to
just show up. Possible?
2) Is there some way to get the image to start at the top of the
screen (ie no title bar) and continue all the way to the bottom?
I presume that I'm just being silly here. Right now I get a title
bar and a space at the bottom of the screen of approximately
the same space.
3) What's the accepted way to make this window "go away" automatically
when I've finished whatever other processing I'm doing? I suspect
that I should just send it some message but even though I've RTFM
and tried the obvious things, they don't seem to work.
Responses by mail would be best. No point in bothering the rest of the
readers who probably already know how to do all this stuff in their sleep :-)
