[net.test] Bizarre invasion of net.test

MW9@PSUVM.BITNET (05/07/86)

Well, I would be all for an invasion of this group except:

Beals would find out about it and flame me some more. We've been in
a fierce note war now for a week or so.

-and-

Everytime you post something here (as you've all found out by now)
many sites have automatic mailers to send you a note saying that your
posting was received at said site at such and such a time. Ah well,
I guess this is a small price to pay for another invasion!

What's your opinion? We'd like to know.

"Whatever it is, I'm against it."

I
like
net.test
as
a
quiet
peaceful
newsgroup
to
wind
down
in
after
net.rumor,
net.politics,
net.women,
net.&c.

Thank
you.

Oh,
a
test?

OK.

(1) Differentiate exp(exp(exp(exp(x)))).
(2) Differentiate log(log(log(log(x)))).
(3) Integrate 1/(1+x^3).

Answer (hopefully):
				  x
				%e x
			      %e %e x
			    %e + %e + %e + x
 			  %e

Answer (hopefully):

				       1
 		     -------------------------------------
		     x log(x) log(log(x)) log(log(log(x)))

> (3) Integrate 1/(1+x^3).

Answer (hopefully):

					 2 x - 1
		       2 atan(-------)
		  log(x - x + 1) sqrt(3) log(x + 1)
 	        - --------------- + ------------- + ----------
			 6 sqrt(3) 3

	How did I do?

And of course, the mandatory test:

testing to see how my new .signature file looks...

I have noted the automatic mailer messages; they're not really that much worse
than Beals' form letters. The only problem is that you can't reply to them
with another form letter (like I do).

Obligatory test:
this is a test

DEFINITELY WRONG! It's:

 					 2 x - 1
 		       2 atan(-------)
 		  log(x - x + 1) sqrt(3) log(x + 1)
  	        - --------------- + ------------- + ---------- + c
 			 6 sqrt(3) 3 ^^^^^^

Anyway, I would like to know if my followup actually got posted...
