================================ OPINIONS SOUGHT OPINIONS SOUGHT OPINIONS SOUGHT ================================ Fellow programmers: I would like to receive your opinions regarding software which is commercially available for the development of WINDOWS applications. Specifically, 1. Compiler recommended: I have read a great deal about MS "C", but Zortech C++ also appears to have many followers. (an aside: If Zortech C++ is used, does the SDK have to be somehow modified to class structures? If this is real naive, I am sorry) 2. Window development products 1. Actor 3.0 and additional Whitewater group products. 2. WindowsMaker 3. CASE:W 3. I/O Libraries which permit variable length records to be accessed from a Windows application. For example, does WhiteWater's WinTrieve permit variable length record access? (I am trying to develop a system which can be used a a question database.) Are there other products which you have experienced not mentioned above? BTW it does not bother at all if you are affiliated with the product you have an opinion about. I will update this posting as replys "start porin in" The end result should be a rather complete listing of windows products. I thank you in advance for your input. Michael T.
