Does anybody have experience in converting from Microsoft Windows to Apple Macintosh? We have been asked to consider converting an application that runs under Windows (2 and 3), to the Macintosh, but we dont have any experience of Macs. I would appreciate some pointers to the general areas where problems are likely to arise - at present we are just looking at the feasibility. I believe that the basic event driven structure of the program is similar, but are there any specific similarities that would help, or problems that are likely to arise? The existing application is actually three programs that communicate through 2 dynamic link libraries. Are there any IPC facilities on a Mac to support a similar structure, or do we need to restructure our program as a single entity? The existing code is written in a mixture of C and C++. Is this likely to present a problem? Are there any tools/libraries that might ease the conversion process?
