[comp.windows.ms.programmer] database engines for win3?

UD180547@NDSUVM1.BITNET (Michael Mee) (01/16/91)

Can anyone recommend a database engine for use with Windows? Either a DLL
or "compiled in" version. I've been mostly happy with btrieve under DOS,
is that, or a workalike, available (wintrieve?).

If possible, it should run on the Macintosh also, but I'll take what I can
get! Oh, and a C++ interface would be a bonus. (Don't ask for much :-))

thanks. Reply direct and I'll summarize.
cheers, michael

Btrieve is available for Windows. It's a DLL, which is exactly what I though
it should have been. If you have the DOS version, upgrades are reasonably
inexpensive. (I've also used Btrieve under DOS, and was relatively happy
with it.)
