[comp.windows.ms.programmer] FreeProcInstance needed at exit?

kea@kasoft.UUCP (Ken Anderson) (02/02/91)

Does anybody know if I should explicitly

	FreeProcInstance(...)

all of the thunks that I made with

	MakeProcInstance(...)

when my application terminates?

That is, does Windows know to clean up, or will thunks accumulate?

Thanks in advance.

YOU MUST. I REPEAT FOR THE CAPS LOCK IMPAIRED, MUST RELEASE ALL
PROC INSTANCES WHEN THE APPLICATION TERMINATES, OR THE SYSTEM RESOURCES
WILL BE THAT MUCH SMALLER. PROC INSTANCES WILL NEVER BE "CLEANED UP"
BY WINDOWS.

>That is, does Windows know to clean up, or will thunks accumulate?

Read overly obtrusive statement above.

Next time Ken, read the "*.txt" files in the windows development directory!
