Maybe this question has been asked many times before, but I'm just started programming Windows applications. Problem : ======================= I can't get Codeview for windows (CVW) to work. I have installed a secondary monitory connected to a monochrome display adapter. The DOS codeview CV and SYMDEB works fine, but CVW fails. The following things happens: 1) Windows is running in enhanced mode. 2) When I start codeview (by clicking on the icon or from the Run command) the screen on the secondary monitor is cleared. The timeglass icon displayed during load of codeview is removed as well. 3) Appearently codeview is displaying some sort of error message on the secondary monitor, but unfortunately this is invisible. 4) When I hit the RETURN key, control is returned to the program manager, which now thinks it is using a monochrom monitor. (Dialogboxes is displayed in black/white). I hope this topic has been discussed before, and look forward to get some help. Any help is appreciated. Our problem turned out to be (of all things) the VGA cards! We couldn't get a thing on the second monitor. We mucked around a bit and found that if we used a Video7 VGA card, lo and behold, the mono screen worked with CVW. Makes no sense, completely crazy, but that is what happened. Its either related to video BIOS, or perhaps the MONO card is actually one of those (pseudo) smart cards that is actually MDA/CGA and is stuffing the system up a little at POST time. Hope this helps. +-------------------+-----------------------------------------+ | Glenn Wallace | Net: DRIFT@QUT.EDU.AU | | Drift Project | Fone: +61 7 837-7126 Fax: +61 7 221-0173| | Telecom Australia | Snail: 11th Flr 144 Edward St., | +-------------------+ Brisbane, Q4000 Australia | | | | Disclaimer - The opinions expressed must be my own, because | | Telecom is a statuatory authority and as such, | | is not capable of having opinions. | +-------------------------------------------------------------+
