Except for the Whitewater toolkit and Turbo Debugger manuals, there's maybe a dozen pages of Windows-specific programming documentation. Of course, there's the Petzold book (free with the Commerical version, but not with the upgrade version), but that's a tutorial, not a reference. Fortunately, Microsoft Press has started selling some SDK documentation separately. I've got the Windows Programmer'Reference ($40), which is absolutely essential, since it documents all the library functions, file formats, messages, etc. If I ever get through Petzold and still feel unsatisfied, I'll probably spend another $30 for Windows Guide to Programming. There's also Windows Programming Tools, but that only documents programs Borland doesn't provide (though they may distribute the help compiler eventually). All of which will hardly satisfy a Pascal programmer, being very C-oriented. But it's better than nothing. -- ergo@netcom.com Isaac Rabinovitch netcom!ergo@apple.com Silicon Valley, CA {apple, amdahl, claris}!netcom!ergo All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. -- Jack
