I am interested in porting a compiler from the VAX to my 386. The VAX lets me play with 32-bit pointers, and 32 bit registers, etc. What I'd like to do is use Windows enchanted mode to give me the virtual memory I am so accustomed to. I'd also like to be able to use 32 bit addresses and registers. This port is going to be a real headache if I have to mess with this segment stuff. Is this dream achievable? (do I have to use some kind of DMPI?) Would it help if I clicked the heels of these funnny red shoes together three times and repreated "there's no place like unix...." any help appreciated, Oscar (owaddell@copper.cs.indiana.edu)
