What sort of experiences are Windows/C++ programmers having with the CommonView class library. 1) Have you found things missing that you would like ? 2) Is is relatively bug free ? 3) Is the resulting code fast enough ? 4) Do you find yourself using Windows API a lot still to get around CommonView deficiencies ? 5) Have you done a comparison with C++/Views ? In alot of ways C++/Views and CommonView seem quite similar. CommonView is more expensive and they both allow portability to other platforms (but different ones, ie. CommonView to OSF/Motif and C++/Views to Mac). C++/Views appears to have some capability for persistance (disk storage of objects) where it doesn't look like CommonView does. If anyone can give me their opinion on CommonView (and/or C++/Views) for doing Windows 3.0 development or answer the above questions I would be very appreciative. Is anyone using CommonView at all ? I will post a summary. Alan Walford Eos Systems Inc. aew@eosvcr.wimsey.bc.ca OR ...uunet!van-bc!eosvcr!aew
