Hi folks, How long does it take to learn Microsoft Windows to become reasonably productive ? As an example, it took me about a year to become proficient in X windows. Any recommended methods for expediting the learning process for MS Windows ? Any good texts ? The SDK took me about 2 months to become truely proficient to the point I could just sit down and write pretty much what I wanted to. BUT, I had 3 Years X under my belt (and a lot of that was Beta and Alpha X 10). I think a few months is all you'll need. |----------------------------------------------------------------------------| |Tom Hite | The views expressed by me | |Manager, Product development | are mine, not necessarily | |CADSI (Computer Aided Design Software Inc. | the views of CADSI. | |----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Are you asking how long it takes to become a proficient programmer or a proficient user? Terrell

Hi, I have got several requests for answers to my original posting. BTW, the original posting was aimed at becoming a proficient MS windows PROGRAMMER (as opposed to a user only). To all the people who sent me email requesting responses to my posting, I will post the answers in a few days as I am still getting info (albeit slowly) on this topic. A copy of my original posting follows: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- How long does it take to learn Microsoft Windows to become reasonably productive ?
