[comp.windows.ms.programmer] Books/refs on C++ for Windows?

mpd@hermes.dlogics.com (04/13/91)

Does anybody know of books/articles on Windows programming using C++?
Or experience doing so you'd like to share?

I'm teaching myself Windows programming by working my way through Petzold
(quite an excellent resource!), converting his examples to C++/oop-style
programs as I go. It's taking some time, but it's worth it to me, being
a big C++ fan. I'm using Borland C++ (no complaints, by the by).

It seems there's a shortage of material out there specific to C++/oop
methodologies as applied to Windows (exibit A: Borland itself recommending
the Petzold! :-) ). Hopefully that's just my own perception, about to be
changed.

(I've only been tuning in here for a couple of weeks, so my apologies if

An interesting article was published in the Winter 1991 _Borland Language
Express_ magazine. It goes over one person's ideas on how to integrate
Windows and C++ and it might give you an idea or two. Perhaps calling
Borland might get you a copy.
