From article <1991May9.143635.1320@javelin.sim.es.com>, by bgeer@javelin.sim.es.com (Bob Geer): bgeer> Pardon my naivete', but is there some reason you cannot mailorder bgeer> these books from a US or other mailorder house? I'm not familiar with bgeer> international mailorder restrictions/procedures/limitations. Many bgeer> mailorder ads & catalogs list both US & Canadian prices, so *that* bgeer> border seems open. Unless, of course, the Australian edition is bgeer> written in a different language. (just kidding :-) ACtually that's what I'm doing myself. However I have this strange belief that other people who might not have the same resources should have to do so (if you were to order directly from Microsoft US you'd be referred back to MA, so you'd have to have a US contact). Anyway, the UPDATE: A book company (I didn't bother to get its name) is importing the SDK documentation. One would expect Microsoft Australia to be aware of the status of Microsoft products instead of trying to convince my computer dealer, and, judging from some of the mailed replies I have received, several oother people's computer dealers, and then me (for about an hour) that they had to buy the whole kit. The catch is, the importer, according to Dymocks (Pocket & Technical store in Sydney) is out of stock and won't be restocked until the end of this month. So anybody who needs it urgently will still need to arrange for somebody in the US to order it and mail or courier it out. Yuck. In my case, my employer is paying for it. In the case of others, this is damned near impossible. Apologies to anybody who wants to know the importer, but like I said I forgot to ask. oops. ___________________________________________________________ troy@mr_plod.cbme.unsw.oz.au
