[comp.windows.ms.programmer] JFKLIB.ZIP and distribution in the InterNet

Joachim_Kainz@p11.f11.n310.z2.fidonet.org (Joachim Kainz) (05/16/91)

I really appreciate the fact that we are connected now to the internet-usegroup
that talks about windows. Problem is that I published this lib for Borland C++
and received quite a punch of netmails from people that wanted kow how to FTP
the file.

I am personally working on a solution via the ANONYMOUS request of our
university-computer. (So, all you people in the InterNet! Try it with

      FTP ANONYMOUS@EIAIDA.TUWIEN.AC.AT

and hope that I reached our SysOp until you did so...)

But maybe you know another solution. If so, pleace tell us.

Regards,
Joachim

Can you give us your address in numeric form?

Now it is available from cica.cica.indiana.edu (12.130.167.18).

I have tried several times to download the jfklib.zip file from
eiaida.tuwien.ac.at and everytime the archive is corrupted. Today I tried
both binary and tenex mode, which seem to be same mode. unzip v. 4.01 says

unzip -v jfklib.zip
Length Method Size Ratio Date Time CRC-32 Name
 ------ ------ ---- ----- ---- ---- ------ ----

error: expected central file header signature not found (file #0).
        (please report to info-zip@wsmr-simtel20.army.mil)

and when I last tried it with pkunzip, it said that there are several crc
errors in the file.

So, Joachim (or someone else): is it possible to put new version of it on the
eiaida (if this is the problem) or on some else site (if this is the
problem).
