[comp.windows.ms.programmer] CodeBase++, C++/Views and BC++

*Anthony Korsman <KORSMANA@QUCDN.QueensU.CA> (05/29/91)

Howdy,

    Like many people I'm about to start development on a windows project and I
am looking for development tools to ease the pain. -:)

CodeBase++ is a C++ class lib. for dBase III+/IV files. Made by Sequiter
 Softare. $295 w/ source. I believe they are based in Calgary, Alberta.
    1) Has anyone had a chance to use it?
    2) Has anyone used it with Borland C++?
    3) I may not require the dBase format files, does anyone know of other
       class lib. for handling files?

C++/Views is a C++ class lib. for windows. ~$500 w/ sourse. It protects you
form the evils of having to call windows. -:)
    1) I have heard several good things about it, but has anyone used
       it with BC++ for a large development?
    2) Will I still need the manauls for the windows SDK?

Borland C++, a C++ compiler for windows.
    Again I have heard good things about it, but I'm looking for opinions from
    developers that have used it extensively. Would you recommend a different
    compiler and why?

Send mail to me and I'll post a summary.

Thanks in advance
Anthony
