[comp.windows.ms.programmer] Tools to Debug UAE under Windows?

reese@paradyne.com (Don Reese) (05/28/91)

Hello

I am looking for tools that allow developers under MS Windows 3.0 to debug
Unrecoverable Application Errors (UAE). We are currently using CodeView
3.05 and the debugging kernel. After a scan of the market place I can not
find tools that sound like they was worth using. If anyone has found or
developed tools for debugging that they have found useful I would
appreciate a mail response. We are willing to purchase tools, but have yet
to find anything better than our current environment. We have considered
adding our own debugging hooks, but would rather not waste resources if
other products are available.

Please e-mail responses, I will post a summary to
comp.windows.ms.programmer for all to read.

Thanks,
Don Reese

Are you saying that Codeview + Debugging Kernel are not satisfactory? The
reason I ask is that I'm tempted to buy the SDK just for the debugging
kernel...

If Codeview + Debugging Kernel aren't satisfactory, please let me know why.

I have used them and still do. I find them satisfactory myself. This is
gonna bring up LOTS of opinions. This is just one of 'em. There are
many reasons to own the SDK. Debugging Kernels are just one. There
are some other utilities that are real nice (Spy, Heapwalk, ...)
