[comp.windows.ms.programmer] Choosing a Windows Compiler

newlin@en.ecn.purdue.edu (Captain Kludge) (05/30/91)

Hi,

  I am working for a professor here at Purdue and we use a graphic
  package called grafic for teaching purposes. This has been ported
  to X, and the Mac and we are in the process of porting it to
  Windows. My question: what is the best choice for a compiler
  to use. We would like for any student who wants to work at home
  to be able to use this package. So If we use MS C /SDK would
  people with BC++ be able to link in this library? Or would it be
  best to make it a DLL?

  So far we have narrowed our choices to
  MS C/SDK
  Quick C/SDK <-- Not sure about this one.
  BC++

  and does anyone know anything about Zortech C++

Any information would be welcome.
We are primarily X/Mac programmers so feel free to send any input.
