[comp.windows.ms.programmer] Question to all participants re: UseNet import

Yes, I'm here and alive.

I prefered to write netmail to Paul King, because his "problem" with
WINDOWS.PROG and comp.windows.ms.programmer seems to be of no interest to the
participants of this echo/newsgroup. I think that no one in UseNet is
interested in the offer of a FidoNet BBS. Whether this single BBS is offering
two or one echo for the single topic Windows programming, shouldn't be of any
value for people elsewhere in the world.

I hoped to keep this problem in netmail, but it seems that some people want to
discuss it public. I do not think that this is the right way. The most
participants of this echo haven't posted any comment about gating - especially
participants from UseNet were discussing on-topic (!).

A few month before we decided to connect WINDOWS.PROG and UseNets
comp.windows.ms.programmer we watched comp.windows.ms.programmer carefully.
There were no messages from FidoNet anywhere. Therefore I think that users of
Paul Kings BBS can't write to this newsgroup. And we got the impression that
nobody else is already gating.

TC> a 'piece of cake' compared to the great WINDOWS monster <GRIN>.

Thank your for your help and offer, but I don't think it is neccessary. Except
two/three FidoNet sysops all participants are satisfied with the contents of
this echo/newsgroup. There were fairly no reasons to write moderator mail. I do
hope that this will be the case in the future again.

A final note to all participants from FidoNet:
Please keep your discussion on-topic. Nobody in UseNet cares about FidoNet
specific stuff. If people in FidoNet can't stop discussing about the
organisation of FidoNet and local BBS, the EXPORT to UseNet has to be stoped.
But this "solution" wouldn't be the right one and many people in FidoNet will
be disappointed, because they are thinking that the import AND export is a
valuable input to this conference.

Any comments regarding this mail or the topic of this mail should be send via
Netmail to me. I will summarise and post in about four weeks.

Regards
  Stephan Schwab
  Moderator of WINDOWS.PROG, WINDOWS.PROG.GER
