I'm looking for a way to provide context sensitive help for an application that must run on MS-Windows and X/Motif based UNIX machines. I am considering using the MicroSoft help utility on MS-Windows since its so standard. That leaves me with a problem on how to provide help on Unix. I am tempted to write a front end on the Unix side that clones the functionality of the MS-Windows help and uses the SAME underlying data. Is there any published spec on how the compiled help resource file looks like. Is there any source code to manipulate such as file. Or am I better off rewritting the hc help compiler and use my own binary help format? I am also interested in any product/code that could provide roughly the same features as MS-Windows help that could run on both Unix and MS-Windows. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gerald T.
