I'm about to start writing on a game for MS Windows 3.0 - something very large. A few of my friends are assisting me, and we came up with a game along the lines of Stratego, as far as game-classifications go. However, I want to get some input from the Windows community, both programmers and users. I want this thing to be BIG!!!! Here are some guidlines I set down: 1. Little animation. Not "no animation", but defintely not large bitmaps being moved around quickly. Windows can't handle this very well. 2. Something addicting. Every PD/SW game I've seen is pretty lame. I want something that'll cause the ftp sites to go into overtime with all the requests. 3. Start small, but potential. Version One should be complete, but there should be room for plenty of improvements and new features. 4. Should be something that only a GUI can take advantage of. I want this thing to be a real Windows game, not some port from DOS. I want icons, object-oriented GUI, pull-down menus, the whole works. Don't get me wrong - I'm not doing WinStratego. The idea of a chess-like board where pieces combat is what I meant. It's the only game I can think of that has minimal animation (but room for more), can be fun to play (with one or more players), and can really shine under Windows. Please post or email responses. Any input is appreciated, and I'm willing to share code with anyone. I'll put this thing in the public domain from day one. If you have any suggestions (from a small code change to a whole new game), I want to hear it. ----------------------------------------------------------- The Time Traveler Let me take you far away a.k.a.
