I've been using openwindows 2.0 as my windowing system on my Sparcstation. I also use the X based newsreader xrn. I have the resources copied into my .Xdefaults file and the application defaults installed as /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/XRn. It works fine but there is one thing. I like to keep my icons on the right hand side of the screen. I therefore removed the line: xrn.iconGeometry: +64+521 from my .Xdefaults file and have removed the line: *Geometry: +0+0 from the app-defaults/XRn file. If I start up xrn from a cmdtool or shelltool with 'xrn -iconic' the icon appears in line with the other icons on the right hand side of the screen. However, if I add the line: xrn -iconic & to my .openwin-init file the icon appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen. Unfortunately there is another application started from .openwin-init whose icon also occupies the same space. Why is it that when xrn is started from .openwin-init its icon appears in the corner but when started from a shell or cmd tool it appears lined up with the other icons? Is is an artifact of xrn or of openwindow in general. Thanks for any help.
