I recently posted a new tool, catcher, to comp.sources.x and comp.sources.sun. This tool lets you use scripts to create little windowed tools that can catch dropped files and text and do something with the dropped object. For example, you can compile a dropped C file (or even a fragment of C code). You can sort files, run sed or awk, or whatever you would normally do from the command line. This is a handly tool for people using Sun's filemgr or mailtool. Look for catcher in the aforementioned newsgroups, or FTP it now from trantor.harris-atd.com (26.13.0.98) in /pub/suntools/catcher/catcher.*.shar. The package includes a 24 page manual. Comments and suggestions always welcome! NOTE: The current release tries to install catcher.info when you install the tool. There is no such file; ignore the message. The tool is unaffected by this error. A future patch will clean up the makefile. -- Chuck Musciano ARPA : chuck@trantor.harris-atd.com Harris Corporation Usenet: ...!uunet!x102a!trantor!chuck PO Box 37, MS 3A/1912 AT&T : (407) 727-6131 Melbourne, FL 32902 FAX : (407) 729-2537 A good newspaper is never good enough, but a lousy newspaper is a joy forever. -- Garrison Keillor
