Is it possible to position a vertical scrollbar on the left of a canvas instead of the default right side? Any help would be much appreciated. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Teck-Joo Chua | Computer Science Department * * Email: chua@cs.stanford.edu | Stanford University * * Phone: (415) 497-6699 | Stanford, California 94305 *

Yes it is, but only by the user, and not by the application. The user can specify this by using the "Properties" function off the main root menu (if you are using olwm). Under the "Miscellaneous" category there is a choice item for setting the scrollbar placement. If you don't want to/can't do it this way, put the following into your .Xdefaults file: OpenWindows.ScrollbarPlacement: left Hope this helps, --Darren -- Darren Austin | Actually, it's a buck and a quarter Windows and Graphics Software | staff, but I'm not going to tell Sun Microsystems, Mountain View | *him* that. dmaustin@sun.com |

Just ad the line: OpenWindows.ScrollbarPlacement:left into your .Xdefaults file. That should do it.
