QUESTION CONCERNING DEFAULTS_STORE_DB I am currently writing a tutorial for the use of resources under X.11 and XView. My problem is now how to explain the behaviour of defaults_store_db to the reader (and to myself). defaults_store_db stores the resource database in a file and at the same time in the XA_RESOURCE_MANAGER property. WHY ??? Why at the same time? Why aren't there two different functions to accomplish this? By using defaults_store_db, an application that wants to store its private resources in a file makes them server-wide at the same time. That does not make sense to me! Let me know if you have a sensible explanation or if you agree. Also, if you want to share your feelings about the many mistakes in the manuals, feel free. To me, the matching algorithm and the precedence rules are badly described (if not wrong). I had to check everything out myself. Maybe I'm just naive to expect the manuals to be right.
