My apologies if this has been asked and answered already. I would like to know how to bring up some windows without titlebars when using olwm. My specific interest are apps such as xman and xload. My specific interest are apps such as xman and xload. The following resource does the trick: OpenWindows.MinimalDecor: xload Xman The name of the application is any of the strings in the WM_CLASS property. You may need to use xprop to find out what this actually is (I did). Chris Flatters

Unless I have misunderstood the original question, titlebars can be removed with the following resource: OpenWindows.MinimalDecor: Faces XMeter xpostit PostItNote xpbiff Thus, xpbiff, for example, will have no titlebar. On the otherhand, the windows will still have borders, but one can live with that. -- Graham Williams, gjw@anucsd.anu.oz.au or gjw@anucsd.anu.edu.au Dept Computer Science, Australian National University, GPO Box 4, Canberra, 2601, Australia. From the olwm man page: RESOURCES OpenWindows.MinimalDecor (list of strings) Specifies a list of windows that are to be decorated minimally. Decoration on such windows includes only a thin border and resize corners, with no title bar or window button. The value should be a whitespace- separated list of strings. Each string should specify an applications class or instance name, as passed in the WM_CLASS property. Most applications set this pro- perty based on the name of the executable (i.e. argv[0]). Many applications will allow you to override the value of this property if they are given the -name option on the command line. Default value: (null).
