First, I'm writing an xview application and would like to determine file types without using kludgy filename extensions. Any pointers to examples/code would be great (Hate to reinvent the wheel, I know "file" does this by checking the first few bytes of a file. Any examples of this, or alternate methods, are welcome). Second, under twm and mwm it is possible to have the icon show the complete title of the window (aka emacs@myfavoritehost). It's inconvenient to have the titles truncated when the window is iconified under olwm. Can olwm be cajoled into showing the entire title? Thanks in advance, Mark Mark A.
