I am having some difficulties with Openwindows v.2.0 on a sparc1+ running Sunos 4.1.1. How on earth can I get the following things to work? I tried the .Xdefaults option, the /usr/openwin/lib/app-defaults option and the -xrm option all to no avail: - trying to set the window background: leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm 'Window.Color.Background: #a040c0' XView warning: Object 0xfdf0, Unknown color: "" (Frame_base package) leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm 'Window.Color.Background: blue' XView warning: Object 0xfdf0, Unknown color: "" (Frame_base package) - trying to set the window frame color (it works only with xrdb) individually: leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm 'OpenWindows.WindowColor: #ff0000' XView warning: Unable to parse window color (Color package) leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm 'OpenWindows.WindowColor: red' XView warning: Unable to parse window color (Color package) - trying to set the font of a window: leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm 'Font.Name: courier' <-- it doesn't work leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -font courier <-- it works - trying to set the geometry of a window: leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -xrm '*geometry: 590x300' <-- it doesn't work leo@vivaldi>cmdtool -geometry 590x300 <-- it works - is there a way (a resource) to make the text in a cmdtool window scroll while keeping the left mouse button pressed in the middle of the scrollbar elevator (i.e., between the up arrow and the down arrow)? these are the environment variables defined: leo@vivaldi>printenv DISPLAY=:0 FONTPATH=/usr/openwin/lib/fonts FRAMEBUFFER=/dev/fb HELPPATH=/usr/openwin/lib/help HOME=/home/vivaldi/leo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/openwin/lib LOGNAME=leo MANPATH=/usr/openwin/share/man:/usr/man NEWSSERVER=307757160.2000;vivaldi OPENWINHOME=/usr/openwin PATH=.:/home/vivaldi/leo/bin:/usr/openwin/bin:/usr/openwin/bin/xview:/usr/local/X11:/usr/local/bin:/usr/ucb:/usr/bin:/usr/etc PWD=/usr/openwin/lib SHELL=/bin/csh TERM=sun-cmd USER=leo WINDOW_PARENT=/dev/win0 WMGR_ENV_PLACEHOLDER=/dev/win3 XAPPLRESDIR=/usr/openwin/lib/X11/app-defaults TERMCAP=sun-cmd:te=\E[>4h:ti=\E[>4l:tc=sun: One bug that I think I have discovered is the following: if I bring up the property sheet of a perfmeter and try to find its owner (by clicking in the appropriate button) it crashes the server. This seems to happen with any property sheet associated with a tool that does not have a title bar. I understand that perfmeter doesn't have a title bar that can be made flash, but crashing the server is a different story..... -- Leonardo C. The -xrm command line option is broken in V2 XView. This has
been fixed in the next release (no, I can't tell you when that
will be, so please don't ask ;-). For the time being you can use
the -default option which is functionally equivalent. For
example, instead of:
cmdtool -xrm 'Window.Color.Background: #a040c0'
use:
cmdtool -default 'Window.Color.Background' '#a040c0'
Hope this helps,

If I remember correctly, there isn't supposed to be a space here. Also try it
without the single quotes.
