I suppose this is a good a place as any for this thing......

I want to build a box which will generate the Touch-Tone (tm)
tones through a speaker. I eventually would like to use it
so I can do touch-tone stuff through a dial phone.

Being the dummy that I am, I know very little about doing
something like this. If someone could answer the following
questions for me, I'd sure appreciate it.

	1) I know there are chips which generate these tones, but
does anyone know what the "numbers" of the chips are,
and where I can get one (does Radio Shack have them?)

	2) Will I need something to amplify the tone the chip
produces, or will it be loud enough by itself?

	3) Are "A", "B", "C", "D" used that much, or would I be
able to get by with just 0-9, *, and #?

	4) What's the best way to power this thing? I had thought
a 9-V battery would be nice, but if we're talking TTL,
it wouldn't be too neat (fry, sizzle).

	5) Does anyone have any plans/wiring diagrams/etc. for one
of these, or do I gotta figger it out for myself?
