We are running Sun OS 4.1 on a Sparc 1+ with OpenWindows version 2. This is a standalone system with one X terminal hung off the serial port. One user has software which runs under SunView, so she brings it up regularly while the other two users generally only use OpenWindows. Since we started running both simultaneously (SunView on the console, OpenWindows on the X-terminal) we have had a rather high number of lockups of the system, occasionally requiring us to flip the power off to reboot. Does anyone know if there are any strange incompatibilities between SunView and OpenWindows that might account for this? I don't know that our problems have anything to do with the windowing system by the way, just fishing. The start of the problems did coincide with us running both windowing systems at the same time however. I'd appreciate any thoughts. John -- John K.
