Hi Guys,

Just fetched this and compiled this. Only problem is that the machine I am
trying to display it on is running OpenWindows (v2) and acm has problems
with the fonts. The exact message I get is ...
    [brolga /home/ant 35] acm brolga
    acm: display goanna:0.0 doesn't know font *courier-bold-r-normal--17*

Any ideas on how I can get around this ? Also, am I going to have lots of
problems like this with fonts etc if I move completely to OpenWindows
(currently only goanna is running OW on a trial basis) ? If I have the
X11 fonts as well can I use them ?

Try changing to *courier-bold-r-normal--18* in file newPlayer.c or some
other font that your system knows. Try looking fonts from directory
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/iso_8859.1/100dpi and check file fonts.dir.

Thanx for all the answers guys. The solution given to me, by about 6 or so
people now :-) was to change the font to size 17 or something else I had. I
tried it last night and it seems to work. Now all I have to do is to find
someone to fight.

The documentation is no help but after some tampering around in the
code I found out that the only file that need changes was all the
Makefiles! Write -DSunOSPlatform somewhere so it becomes a parameter
to cc everytime a file is compiled and remove the "-systype bsd43".

      Just change "*courier-bold-r-normal--17*" to "Courier-Bold17".
I had the same problem and this worked. We are also running OpenWindows
  (v2).

    Dave

   PS
Thanx to all those who responded to my request for the acm source
especially Julian at Lancs from whom I obtained the source.

I had the same problem as well. But I had to do a -DSunOSPlatform.

then again I checked my OPENWIN font dir and saw that the
"courier-bold-r-normal--17" was in the family.list file ...

As far as I remember ACM's Makefile needed the following treatement to
compile on a SunSparc with OW 2.0

Put this in CFLAGS: -DSunOSPlatform
Remove this from CDEBUGFLAGS: -systype bsd43

This was found with a little hacking
