[comp.windows.open-look] how do I detect a color framebuffer?

880274d@aucs.AcadiaU.ca (Ralph Doncaster) (04/06/91)

I am doing some work in xview/X11, and I would like to be able to tell whether
my program is on a b/w or color display. I know how to do it from a shell, bu
checking /dev for the device, but would like a cleaner way to do it.
