(Bryan McDonald) writes about problems with Sun's Calendar Manager.

To add to the list of features lacking in Calendar Manager (BTW, I'm only
just now using V3Beta, so some of the stuff may not apply anymore).

- ability to handle appointments which repeat on particular days of a
month (e.g., Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November, my
skydiving club meets on the second Tuesday of every month).

- An indication in the CM icon that there are/are not entries for
  the current day.

- BUG: When having appointments for which mail is to be sent at the
same time, CM sends two copies of one of the appointments.

- Permission capability which would allow restricting the
writing/modification of an appointment to the "author". For
example, if a colleague wants to get on my calendar, I want to give
him the capability to add an appointment. I don't, however, want
him to be able to modify/delete any appointment except for the one
  he authored.

- Allow mail to be sent in minutes and/or hours before a time rather
than just hours and the ability to specify an exact date and time
for the mail to be sent (so I don't have to figure back from the
appointment beginning time to the time I want the mail sent).

- Allow pop-ups to be displayed at the same time on terminals of other
people (similar to adding userids for mail).

- Allow user to specify the default mail address for mail
messages, the repeat intervals for days/weeks/etc., the default for
  abbrev. size/full size.

- In the day view, shading, or with an arrow indicating, the length of
an appointment (similar to what is seen in the week view).

Just a few thoughts,

Stephen
