[comp.windows.open-look] need a GIF display utility

Does anyone have a utility which would allow me to display a GIF format
picture in the root menu background?  I recall seeing such a beast, and
it was called xview(?).  I didn't find it in my machine (IPC w/SunOS 4.1.1).
My local Sun rep and the phone help line both pointed me to the net for
freeware, since Sun has a policy of not giving out freeware.

Please email me the uuencoded binary at aldo@lia.com, source would be
