USENIX Conference attendees will receive complimentary registration to UniForum's Trade Show." I hope this goes both ways! I saw nothing in UniForum's Flier; I am going to UniForum and plan to head over to USENIX. -- B. Sam Blanchard UUCP: <backbones>!{iuvax,pur-ee}!bsu-cs!sam ARPA: sam@bsu-cs.bsu.edu 3207 W. They do not receive free registration to the Uniforum technical sessions. Similarly, UNIFORUM attendess do not receive free registration to teh USENIX technical sessions. There is no USENIX trade show in Dallas. If there were, you could probably get in free. --rick

I assume by "the converse is obviously true" you mean to imply that Uniforum lets Usenix registrants into its technical sessions and tutorials for free which they do not do. They only let them into the trade show. Usenix has no trade show to let anybody into for free. Each January Usenix and Uniforum purposely hold their conference in the same city during the same week in January so they can "share" the trade show. Their summer conferences are different places at different times so then Usenix has their own (smaller) trade show. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- King Ables Micro Electronics and Computer Technology Corp. ables@mcc.com 3500 W. More precisely, Usenix *tries* to hold its winter conference in the same place and time as Uniforum, because Usenix attendees value being able to attend the Uniforum trade show as well. There have been joint conferences once or twice, but in recent times the "sharing" has been limited to free Uniforum trade-show admissions for Usenix attendees. Same-place-same-time conferences will be less frequent in the next few years, as I understand it, because of scheduling complications. -- If the Space Shuttle was the answer, | Henry Spencer at U of Toronto Zoology what was the question? | henry@zoo.toronto.edu utzoo!henry
